I’m gleaning a lot of insight from this book and several aha moments only a few chapters in. One of them involves job security which I’ve watched evolve over the course of my lifetime. One of my grandfathers worked for Bell Telephone for most of his life. He retired and is still living off his pension and money he saved. He had probably what I would call real job security in the fact that he spent his career with this one company and they completely took care of his golden years.

Job Security ~ Peddling Illusions
Currently I’m reading a fantastic book by Carrie Wilkerson, the Barefoot Executive. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for no nonsense common sense information and mentorship. Here is the link to the information on her book: http://barefootexecutivebook.com

One Day at a Time – Part One
The day my husband lost his job is one I will never forget. It was a few years after 9/11 and our children were babies at the time. They are 14 months apart in age and as such were still in diapers. I was at work when he called and I knew immediately that something was wrong. He was upset and of course my first thought was that he was hurt or something equating to that but what he told me was just as frightening to say the least.
